Cody Beck joined the Law Center in 2023 as a Grants and Development Specialist. In this role, they manage a portfolio of 50 foundations and donor advised funds and are responsible for drafting, editing and submitting letters of intent, stewardship reports, and proposals to foundations that currently support or may considering supporting the Law Center’s work.
Prior to joining the Law Center, Cody served as a grant program office with Chicago Sinfonietta, a nationally-recognized orchestra. In this role, they facilitated grants from prospecting through reporting while maintaining development calendars and records. Previously, they served as a growth and engagement administrative assistant with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Chicago. Additionally, Cody has written short and feature-length independent films.
Cody graduated with honors from Northwestern University with a B.A. in English Literature and Radio/Television/Film, and they were the first-place undergraduate recipient of the Krevoy Screenwriting Fund Prize.
