On Thursday, June 14, Law Center staff attorney Ebony Griffin was appointed as a member of the Philadelphia Food Policy Advisory Council (FPAC). FPAC connects Philadelphians and their local government to create a more just food system. They envision that all Philadelphians can access and afford healthy, sustainable, culturally appropriate, local, and fair food.
In her work on the Law Center’s Garden Justice Legal Initiative, Ms. Griffin helps communities across the city protect gardens and farms, a reliable source of healthy food in a city with high levels of poverty and food insecurity.
“The citizens of this city and I are very grateful to you for taking on this very important task and work,” Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney wrote in his letter appointing Ms. Griffin to the council.
