In appreciation of our work securing a fair and constitutional congressional district map for the state of Pennsylvania, the Public Interest Law Center has been awarded the Common Cause Pennsylvania Democracy Defender Award. We are honored to be recognized along with our redistricting lawsuit plaintiffs, the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania and 18 voters from each congressional district.
The award will be presented as part of Common Cause Pennsylvania’s Democracy Works Summit, convening on Monday, May 21 and Tuesday, May 22 in Philadelphia. At the summit, good government advocates and organizations from across the state and region will gather to discuss critical issues that impact democracy, such as redistricting, the upcoming 2020 census, and voting modernization.
Common Cause Pennsylvania is a non-profit non-partisan citizen-led advocacy organization working to hold government accountable and make government responsive to the needs of its citizens.
The award will be presented on Monday, March 21st at a VIP reception held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sheraton Downtown Hotel in Philadelphia, the site of the summit.
