Police officers are shooting young black children and men without consequence. We must express our moral outrage. We cannot continue along this path. 

We call on our leaders to require our police departments to implement meaningful training on the use of deadly force. We insist that the federal Department of Justice hold state and local authorities accountable, including ensuring that any federal funding is contingent on such training. We urge that our own city officials make permanent and fully fund our shockingly under-resourced Philadelphia Police Advisory Commission to ensure police accountability here at home. And we call on all Americans to acknowledge and overcome the unspoken contribution of implicit racial stereotype and bias to this great national tragedy.
