Fighting for Justice: Your Support Matters!

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we enter a critical chapter in our nation’s history, the Public Interest Law Center is resolute in our mission to protect and expand the rights of all Pennsylvanians, especially those from marginalized communities. Now more than ever, we are called to ensure that everyone—no matter who they are, where they live, or what they believe in—has equal access to justice, safety, and opportunity.

Will you contribute to the Law Center today and continue the fight together for justice?

For 55 years, we have championed the rights of Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable communities, achieving landmark changes in voting rights, education equity, fair housing, and environmental justice. From challenging gerrymandered districts to securing critical funding for under-resourced public schools, we have fought tirelessly for a fair and just future.

Now, as the political landscape shifts, we’re preparing to address potential threats to civil rights. We will remain vigilant to defend against policies that could harm our communities, roll back rights, or increase inequities in our city, state, and region. With your support, we will push forward and continue to make real, lasting change for those facing poverty, discrimination, and inequality.

Here’s how we’re moving forward together:

  • Safeguarding Voting Rights: Building on our court victories this year, we’ll continue to protect access to the ballot box for all Pennsylvanians by challenging restrictive voting measures and making sure that every vote counts. From seeking fair districts to opposing the rejection of mail ballots for meaningless paperwork mistakes, we are at the forefront of safeguarding democracy .
  • Fighting for Education Equity: We’re committed to fighting for funding equity in our public schools so that every child—regardless of their ZIP code—has the resources to succeed. Our recent trial win addressing Pennsylvania’s education funding crisis has set the stage for lasting reforms, and we’re ready to insist that the state legislature finishes the job by closing the adequacy gap.
  • Advocating for Fair Housing: We will persist in advocating for the right of every person to live in safe, healthy, and affordable housing, as we did this year for tenants of Brith Sholom House and Columbus Property Management. We’re also committed to fighting illegal practices like source of income discrimination against housing voucher holders.
  • Protecting the Environment and Public Health: We will continue to work to increase land security for community gardens, take action against nuisance auto-body shops in residential neighborhoods, and protect against environmental hazards that disproportionately impact low-income communities and communities of color.

In times of uncertainty, we have always leaned into our mission, thanks to steadfast supporters like you. Your partnership is essential as we stand together against any threat to our shared values and the protections we have built. Join us as we move forward with purpose, resilience, and unwavering commitment.

Please consider making a gift today to empower the Law Center to protect Pennsylvania’s future. Together, we can ensure that justice, fairness, and equality endure for all.

In solidarity,

Brent W. Landau
