We will celebrate with staff attorney Amy Laura Cahn and her clients, the Eastwick Friends & Neighbors Coalition, at the 2015 Tribute to Change on October 1.
Bread & Roses’ annual celebration honors community leaders who have made significant contributions to movements for change. The theme for this year’s Tribute to Change is Environmental Justice.
Ms. Cahn will be honored with the Trailblazer Award for her environmental justice work in Philadelphia. This year, in addition to her work on the Philadelphia Land Bank and assisting community gardeners, she has been instrumental in helping the residents of Eastwick get closer to a community-based planning process for both the future of a 135-acre parcel of land and flood mitigation infrastructure.
The Eastwick Friends and Neighbors Coalition will be honored with the Community Empowerment Award for its more than three years of hard work and commitment to inform, engage and empower Eastwick residents and stakeholders about issues that impact the environmental, economic and social health of the Eastwick community.
The Tribute to Change will take place on Thursday, October 1 at the National Museum of American Jewish History. Click here for more information or to purchase tickets to the event.
