The Pennsylvania Supreme Court will hear oral argument in our redistricting lawsuit on Wednesday, January 17 at 9:30 a.m. in Harrisburg. The argument will take place in the Supreme Court Room on the 4th Floor, East Side, of the Main Capitol Building located at 501 N 3rd Street.
We need your help to fill the courtroom and stand with our petitioners to show the Court that this is an important case that has support from all Pennsylvanians.
IMPORTANT: We have received some questions about tomorrow’s schedule and wanted to provide a few additional details/clarifications.
First and foremost, you do not need an actual ticket/EventBrite reservation to attend tomorrow’s oral argument. We created an RSVP page through EventBrite so that we could get an estimate for the number of people coming and inform the court so it could prepare accordingly.
Your RSVP through EventBrite does not guarantee that you will have a seat in the courtroom. We cannot save seats. That is why we are encouraging everyone to arrive early.
The length of the oral argument is unknown. Our best guess is that it will take at least 45 minutes and no more than 2 hours, but the court has not issued any time limits and there is no real way of knowing how the day will unfold tomorrow.
You can enter the capitol building from the Commonwealth Avenue side. For help with identifying this side, the entrance has a fountain outside of it (which will not be running because of the snow).
