In the early 1970s, with a grant from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Law Center designed an Employment Referral Project in which we screened potential discrimination cases and trained private attorneys to take them on. Starting in the late 1970s, the project brought a series of racial discrimination cases focusing on the steel industry in Pennsylvania.
