City Must Fund Philly Schools and Avoid Delayed Opening

We urge the city to make the commitment to fund the $50 million necessary to proceed with opening Philadelphia public schools on time.

School District of Philadelphia Superintendent William Hite recently announced that if the district does not receive $50 million in funding from City Council by Friday, August 16th, the district will, “be forced to consider alternatives to starting the 2013-14 school year on Monday, September 9.” Click here to read his statement.

Please call Council President Darrell Clarke at 215-686-3442 or 215-686-3443 and ask City Council to provide these crucial funds to the school district.
