Arkansas Voter ID Bill Vetoed and Overriden

Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe recently vetoed a bill that would require voters to show identification before casting a vote. Days later, legislators in the State House of Representatives overrode his veto.

Arkansas now joins almost three dozen other states with similar voting regulations. Supporters of the bill believe it prevents voter fraud. Prior to his veto last week, Governor Beebe noted that he felt the ID law created a solution to a non-existent problem.
