Meghan Binford

Staff Attorney

Meghan Binford joined the Law Center in 2025 as a staff attorney in the Housing and Environmental Justice practices.

Prior to joining the Law Center, Ms. Binford was a staff attorney in the Unemployment Compensation Unit at Philadelphia Legal Assistance. In her time at PLA, Ms. Binford represented clients who were unjustly denied unemployment benefits in agency hearings, agency appeals, and appeals to the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she advocated for changes to the unemployment system that would make the program more accessible to underserved communities. Ms. Binford began her career as a staff attorney at the Defender Association of Philadelphia where she represented hundreds of clients charged with crimes ranging from misdemeanors to first degree felonies. Ms. Binford’s representation led to not guilty verdicts in several felony cases that were tried by jury.

Ms. Binford earned a J.D. in 2015 from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where she was awarded the Hal M. Weinstein Memorial Prize for Promise in Trial Advocacy. She is a graduate of Rice University with a B.A. in Sociology.
