Mary Beth Schluckebier joined the Law Center in 2019. In her practice, she uses a community lawyering approach to advocate for communities combatting uninhabitable housing, unresponsive landlords, and evictions. She represents clients in legal actions, as well as providing strategic and policy support and guidance.

Before joining the Law Center, Ms. Schluckebier was a litigation associate at Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr. There, she focused on higher education practice while maintaining a robust pro bono docket, representing immigrant clients, community groups, and civil rights case. She served as pro bono co-counsel with the Law Center in their representation of La Finquita community farm. In law school, Ms. Schluckebier served as an intern for the Defender Association of Philadelphia, the Sheller Center for Social Justice, and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. Prior to Law School, she worked for several years in community, social service, and public policy work around immigration issues in both Philadelphia and on the national level in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Schluckebier earned a B.S. in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Scranton and graduated cum laude from Temple University Beasley School of Law. As an undergraduate, Ms. Schluckebier lived and studied in El Salvador at the Casa de la Solidaridad / University of Central America, and also earned a certificate in International Human Rights Law after studying in San Jose, Costa Rica during Law School.
