Leanne Almeida joined the Law Center in 2021 as its program coordinator. She is responsible for both traditional and non-traditional paralegal functions and provides general support for Law Center programming, such as development, events, and community organizing.

Before joining the Law Center, Ms. Almeida was a legal assistant and organizer with the Worker Defense Project, a community organization in Austin for low-wage and immigrant workers in the Texas construction industry. There, she managed a caseload and supported the work of staff attorneys, helped organize workers to respond to workplace issues, and conducted intake in both English and Spanish. While attending Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Ms. Almeida was an intern with the Central American Resource Center and served as a student coordinator for the Kalmanovitz Initiative—Immigration and Labor Project.

Ms. Almeida graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in English.
