#TakeActionPhilly continues with March CLE programs hosted by the Philadelphia Bar Association.
Thank you for the interest and support for the #TakeActionPhilly convening that took place at the Loews Hotel on February 24th! The Law Center played an integral role in convening this event, which ended up exceeding expectations with attendance of well over 500 people. At this convening, Mayor Kenney gave a speech, people gave first-hand accounts of their experiences as immigrants or refugees, and attendees learned the basics of the law governing certain current events.
To continue taking action, the next step is to sign up. The Philadelphia Bar Association’s The Challenge Ahead: Access to Justice web page at http://www.philadelphiabar.org/page/ChallengeAhead lists the ways attorneys can volunteer, provides a form for attorneys to complete to be added to a database accessed by the legal nonprofit organizations, and details the CLE programs that will provide the training for attorneys to participate in various clinics.
The following CLE programs are being held in March:
- March 16, 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. – Adjustment of Status Training
- March 20, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. – Ethics of Pro Bono Representation & Naturalization
