State and District Reach Short-Term Agreement as Litigation Continues

Reports suggest that the District and the State have reached an agreement to keep the District running through the end of the month, but the lawsuit is expected to continue until the parties reach a long-term solution. The Pennsylvania Department of Education and the school district have reached an interim agreement today to permit schools to stay open for a few weeks, but there is no long-term plan in place to ensure the rights of students to receive an education in accordance with state standards for the full school year.
