Class Action: Blunt v. LMSD

Following years of struggle with LMSD, the Law Center filed a class action lawsuit against LMSD in July of 2007 on behalf of five African American families from Lower Merion. The Law Center was joined by Concerned Black Parents, Inc., and the NAACP Mainline Branch. Class action certification was denied and along with DLA Piper, who joined the case as co-counsel in 2010, the Law Center appealed this case before the Third Circuit. Oral arguments were heard on Tuesday, June 11th, 2013. The Supreme Court denied our clients’ request to hear an appeal from the Third Circuit’s decision upholding the case’s dismissal.
